Admitted student events are a great way to learn more about your potential future college home. Below, Associate Director of Admissions & Coordinator of Visits and Events Jenny Hunken tells us more about 51����Ƶ's in-person and virtual admitted student programming this spring. 

 You’ve been admitted to 51����Ƶ, now what?  First, celebrate! 

Alongside the excitement comes an important decision before May 1— choosing the lucky college you’ll call home. Our admitted student programming is built around a few key questions to help you make that decision:

• How will I be empowered to own my academic journey?  

• How can I show up in this community as my authentic self?  

• How will my college experience spark new ideas and launch me for long-term success?  

• What else do my family and I need to know about financial aid and affordability? 

Each admitted student event is built to help you explore these questions while forming meaningful connections with current students, faculty, and campus offices, so you can truly envision yourself as a member of 51����Ƶ’s Class of 2030. 

In-Person Admitted Student Programs: 

Whether you’ve visited campus before or not, returning as an admitted student offers a new perspective. It’s a chance to picture your future -- meeting potential classmates, connecting with professors, and experiencing daily life. 

If possible, I would highly suggest attending one of our 51����Ƶ in Focus programs on either April 6 or April 20. These full-day events are designed to help you explore every facet of 51����Ƶ. You might sit in on a class, attend a faculty panel, tour Physics labs, or connect with professors during World Languages and Cultures drop-in hours -- offering a true sense of academic life. Just as importantly, you’ll experience community life: share a meal with current students, make friendship bracelets, attend a student journeys panel, tour a dorm, or connect with campus offices at a resource fair. 51����Ƶ in Focus is a “build-your-own-adventure” day, so you can prioritize what matters most to you. Many of our students describe it as the moment they knew 51����Ƶ was the right fit. I hope it can be that moment for you too! 

FYI: Registration for 51����Ƶ in Focus will close the Thursday before the program at 8:30 AM ET.  

If those dates don’t work, Preview 51����Ƶ is offered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from March 27 through April 29. This program gives you a day-in-the-life experience: attend a class, eat in the dining hall, and explore campus through a student-led tour. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with key offices. When you register for Preview 51����Ƶ, you can pre-select meeting times with the Office of Financial Aid and Access Services. Afternoon drop-in hours are also available with Residential Life and Student Engagement, the Career and Civic Engagement Center, and First Year Experience, so you can meet the teams who will support you throughout your time at 51����Ƶ. 

FYI: Registration for each Preview 51����Ƶ in Focus will close 25 hours in advance. 

Virtual Admitted Student Programs:  

We understand that coming to campus before May 1 isn’t always feasible. This year we have a robust offering of virtual admitted student programs so even from afar you can dive deep into the 51����Ƶ community.  

Events are organized around four themes, Engaged 51����Ƶ, Finding Your People, 51����Ƶ Connected, and Affordability & Financial Aid, so you can easily choose what’s most relevant to you. Our “M���ɰ��ٱ��&�Բ�����;�ѱ���-�ܱ��” are interactive, student-only sessions where you can ask questions, hear directly from current students, and connect with other admitted students. Other sessions are webinars, many of which are recorded and available in your portal if you can’t attend live. We also offer multiple ways to connect with Financial Aid, including webinars, email, and one-on-one appointments, so you and your family can feel confident about affordability.

Making the Most of Admitted Student Events: 

No matter how you engage with 51����Ƶ, here are a few tips for admitted student events: 

• Start by revisiting what mattered most in your college search. Perhaps, location, a specific major, or a close-knit community drove your college search. Come prepared with questions that reflect your priorities and ask them at each school so you can compare your options. 

• How a campus makes you feel is just as important as any statistic. There’s no perfect formula, but a sense of belonging matters. Focus on where you feel welcomed and at home. 

• Talk to a range of students and community members to get different perspectives, whether through an event or an online messaging platform like . 

• Take notes or record a quick voice memo after each visit. As May 1 approaches, those reflections will help you remember what stood out.
